Texas Longhorns Game Notes
Bijan Robinson had 24 rushes for 140 yards and one touchdown while gathering in 1 of 4 targets for 41 yards and another score during Saturday’s 41-34 loss to Oklahoma State. Robinson keeps chugging along with his sixth straight 100-yard rushing game. He was also able to post his fifth game with multiple touchdowns. Robinson can really do it all as he had an impressive 41-yard receiving touchdown against the Cowboys. Quarterback Quinn Ewers was inconsistent against Oklahoma State which means that Texas will need to lean on their workhorse until their young quarterback becomes more poised. Fantasy managers will need to find a replacement next week as the Longhorns are on a bye. They will then return to play at Kansas State.
Kansas State Wildcats Game Notes
Kansas State offensive coordinator Colin Klein said Thursday that Adrian Martinez (lower body) has been a full participant in practice this week but is still a game-time decision for this Saturday’s game against Texas, Derek Young of On3.com reports. Martinez warmed up with the Wildcats’ starting unit and appeared likely to start ahead of last week’s win over Oklahoma State, though he ultimately missed his first game of the season due to a lower-body injury. With the Nebraska transfer out, backup Will Howard led Kansas State with 296 yards and four touchdowns on 21-for-37 passing en route to a blowout victory. Over the first seven games of the season, Martinez completed 87 of his 140 passes for 907 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing 92 times for 565 yards and nine touchdowns, and he should reprise his starting role if fully healthy heading into Saturday. Otherwise, expect Howard to take the reins once again for this marquee matchup against the Longhorns.
