ODDSMAKERS LIKE: TCU. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Horned Frogs are 7-point home favorites to beat the Longhorns, who also opened as a 7-point underdog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 41.5 but has jumped all the way up to 46.5.

THE PUBLIC LIKES: TCU. As of this writing, 58% of public bettors are backing the Horned Frogs and laying the points.

HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: The road team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams but the Longhorns have failed to cover against the Horned Frogs in four of the last five meetings.

WHO WE LIKE: Texas. TCU is 1-9 against the spread as a home favorite and is coming off its first loss of the season, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Horned Frogs respond.

Texas, meanwhile, is a near-perfect 9-1 at the betting window against teams averaging 36 points per game or more. But this might not be the same dynamic TCU offense that we’ve seen for most of the season. Kenny Hill was just 12-for-25 passing for 135 yards with two red zone turnovers last week against Iowa State. No offense to one of the best stories going in college football, but Texas has more ability and talent than ISU, so why not take UT tonight?

Offensively, the ‘Horns should have both quarterbacks (Sam Ehlinger and Shane Buechele) at their disposal. TCU remains nasty on defense, but this is too many points to pass up on a team in Texas that is playing its best football of the season. (Conversely, TCU might be ready to start playing its worst.)
