Key Betting Trends

The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams while the road team is 4-1 against the number in the last five meetings. That said, the Longhorns are just 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games against the Horned Frogs.

OUR PREDICTION: Gary Patterson’s defense has held each of its last three opponents to season lows in yards, which includes Iowa State, which mustered a 14-7 victory over TCU a week ago. Quarterback Kenny Hill played the worst game of his season versus the Cyclones, who held the Horned Frogs’ offense out of the end zone. The only score TCU generated was on a 94-yard kickoff return for touchdown.

Texas, meanwhile, has held its last two foes to season lows in yards. Offensively, whether it’s Sam Ehlinger under center or Shane Buechele, the Longhorns don’t figure to score much against a Horned Frogs defense that has allowed just 15 points per game this season. Making matters worse for Texas is the injury sustained to Toneil Carter, who suffered a concussion last week in the team’s victory over Baylor. Chris Warren and the other Longhorns backs have not produced this season. I love the under in this matchup.
