Bearcats looking for marquee win
Cincinnati is coming off a 52-14 win at Marshall last weekend for its second straight victory. The Bearcats are 3-1 on the season as they are set to begin AAC play. Cincy is 3-1 against the spread and 3-1 with the under.
The Bearcats are led by their defense this season, as they are allowing just 20.8 points and 297.3 yards per game. Offensively, Cincinnati is putting up 27.8 points and 408.8 yards per contest. Quarterback Desmond Ridder is leading the offense with 815 passing yards and eight touchdowns while Alec Pierce has 14 catches for 277 yards and a score. Michael Warren II is leading the ground attack with 262 yards and four touchdowns. Michael Pitts has been leading the defense with four sacks and 16 tackles.
UCF gets back to winning
After suffering its first regular-season loss since 2016 two weeks ago at Pitt, UCF bounced back last weekend with a 56-21 win at home over Connecticut. The Knights are 4-1 on the season, 1-0 in the AAC, 3-2 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.
UCF has one of the best offenses in the country, as the Knights are putting up 49 points and 568.6 yards per contest. The defense is giving up just 19.4 points and 324.8 yards per outing. Dillon Gabriel is leading UCF this season with 1,388 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. Gabriel Davis is the leading receiver with 25 catches for 499 yards and eight touchdowns. Greg McCrae is the leading rusher with 323 yards and four touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Bearcats are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, but just 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games against a winning team.
Central Florida
The Knights are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 conference games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games.
Prediction:
Central Florida has won and covered in its last three meetings with the Bearcats, winning each game by at least 21 points, including a 51-23 win at Cincinnati in 2017. The Bearcats have been playing well as of late, but we saw them struggle against Ohio State and UCF has the explosiveness of a top-level team. The Knights should be able to find ways to score on the Buckeyes. The UCF defense also gets overlooked sometimes, but I think it can contain this Cincinnati offense.
