UCLA stuns Washington State
UCLA overcame a 49-17 deficit last week to beat Washington State on the road, 67-63. UCLA is now 1-3 on the season, 1-0 in the Pac-12, 1-3 against the spread and 3-1 with the under.
The Bruins had an offensive outburst last weekend, but they are averaging 27.3 points and 361.8 yards per game on offense for the season. The defense is allowing 39.5 points and 530.3 yards per game. Dorian Thompson-Robinson is leading the team with 1,063 passing yards and 10 touchdowns with five interceptions. Joshua Kelley is the leading rusher with 194 yards while Demetric Felton is the leading receiver with 20 catches for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Felton has also rushed for 177 yards.
Arizona bests Texas Tech
The Wildcats have won their last two games after losing at Hawaii in their opener. Arizona bested Texas Tech at home two weeks ago, 28-14. Arizona is 2-1 on the year, 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
Arizona is an offensive power, putting up 43.7 points and 586 yards per game. Defensively, the Wildcats have struggled, as they are giving up 33.3 points and 482.7 yards per contest. Khalil Tate is leading the team with 684 passing yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 238 yards and two scores. Gary Brightwell has added 226 rushing yards and three scores while Tayvian Cunningham is the leading receiver with 12 catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Jace Whittaker has three interceptions to lead the defense.
College Football Betting Trends
UCLA
The Bruins are just 4-9-1 against the spread in their last 14 games on grass and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games in September.
Arizona
The Wildcats have covered the spread in six straight against a losing team and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games.
Prediction:
The home team has won the last three in this series, but Arizona has covered the spread in the last two meetings. A lot could be made of UCLA’s performance last weekend, but I think that was a fluke. The Bruins were on pace to get blown out once again before things fell apart for Washington State. Arizona State is rested and looked good against Texas Tech. I think the Wildcats will have too much speed for the UCLA defense, and the Arizona defense can make enough stops against a UCLA offense that is going to come back down to Earth this week.
College Football Week 5 Prediction: Arizona -7.5
