UCLA Bruins Game Notes
UCLA junior QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 14-of-26 passes for 196 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in Sunday’s 34-10 win over Cal. On top of his passing contributions, Thompson-Robinson also scooted in for a touchdown as a runner. Thompson-Robinson was far from his best in this one, but seeing as Cal were scheduled as an opponent on short notice, the junior QB still did well to look as though he had his wits about him and was mostly making good, smart decisions that helped keep the Bruins chugging along. It also helps that UCLA’s defense regularly held off Cal’s offense and granted the UCLA offense some solid field position. UCLA will take on Oregon next week.
Oregon Ducks Game Notes
Oregon redshirt junior WR Daewood Davis (undisclosed) is expected to miss Saturday’s game against UCLA. In 2019 Davis (6’2″/184) moved to the defensive side of the football during spring practice, but that was at a time when Oregon didn’t lack for depth at wide receiver. However with all the injuries at the position, the versatile redshirt junior shuttled between receiver and defensive last year. He caught nine passes for 89 yards and a touchdown, while also posting two tackles and returning four kickoffs for 93 yards. The Ducks are thin at wide receiver this week now that he and Mycah Pittman are expected to miss Saturday’s game against UCLA.
UCLA vs. Oregon Betting Prediction
The Bruins are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven meetings with the Ducks, while the favorite has cashed in four straight series meetings between these two teams. UCLA is also just 1-4 against the spread in its last five conference games, is 1-3-1 against the number in its last five road games and is 5-15-2 at the window in its last 22 games coming off a win. On the other side, the Ducks are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, are 5-1 against the number in their last six games coming off a win and have cashed four tickets in their last five home games dating back to last season.
