Alabama, Oklahoma still favored

We’re still a few weeks away from the top four teams clashing in this season’s college football playoff, but here’s an update on the point spreads for each postseason bowl game.

Despite Michigan State receiving 71% of public backing at the betting window, Alabama is still a 10-point favorite according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. The Crimson Tide opened as low as an 8-point favorite before the number was bet up to double digits.

With that much public backing, it’ll be interesting to see where the line moves from here. If the spread stays at 10 or goes higher, that’s a clear indication that more money is on Alabama to cover, even though the number of betting tickets may favor Michigan State. Kickoff for this December 31st matchup is at 8:00PM ET, and the over/under sits at 47 points.

At 4:00PM ET that same day, Clemson and Oklahoma will meet at Sun Life Stadium in Miami for the Orange Bowl. BetDSI currently has the Sooners listed as a 3.5-point favorite over the Tigers, while the over/under is sitting at 66 points.

As far as the public betting is considered for that matchup, 61% of public bettors are currently taking the points with Clemson. At some books, the Tigers are even a 4-point dog.
