Oklahoma Now Favored to Win Title
Are the Oklahoma Sooners now the team to beat in college football? According to oddsmakers, Baker Mayfield and Co. are the top dogs in terms of national title odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Sooners are 15/4 favorites to win the college football national championship this season. Despite losing to Auburn in the Iron Bowl on Saturday, Alabama has the next-best odds at 4/1, although Clemson has the same odds, while Auburn is 17/4. That’s your current top four.

What about Wisconsin? The undefeated Badgers have 10/1 odds to win the national title, right behind the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are 15/2 to win this year’s title. Miami is now 18/1, while TCU is 85/1 and USC is a 100/1 long shot to win it all. Central Florida, meanwhile, has the longest odds to win the national title at 300/1.
It’s “Championship Week” in college football so the dust is about to settle on the college football season. On Friday night is the Pac-12 title game between Stanford and USC, which is a 3.5-point favorite. The game will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. The over is 16-7 in the last 23 meetings between these two teams.
On Saturday afternoon, TCU will seek revenge against Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship at 12:30 p.m. ET. At 4:00 p.m. ET, Georgia will get a chance to knock off red-hot Auburn in the SEC championship. The Bulldogs opened as a 1.5-point underdog but the line has climbed to 2.5. Auburn beat Georgia 40-17 as a 2.5-point home underdog in mid-November, but the Tigers are still just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games versus the Bulldogs.
On Saturday night, Clemson is a 9.5-point favorite to beat Miami in the ACC championship game and Wisconsin is now a 7-point underdog versus Ohio State in the Big Ten title game at 8:00 p.m. ET. The Hurricanes are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Tigers while the Buckeyes are 6-2-1 against the number in their last nine games verusus the Badgers.
