The Trojans avoided disaster after surprisingly trailing the Sun Devils throughout the contest, and they’ll look to avoid letting the Buffs stick around this weekend. USC is scoring 55.0 ppg, while passing for 377.3 yards per game, and rushing for 192.0 ypg. The Trojan defense allows 20.0 points per game.
Caleb Williams came through with another Heisman-worthy performance last weekend in the desert, passing for a season-high 322 yards, with three passing touchdowns, and two more scores on the ground.
The junior quarterback has been flawless through four starts, and if his defense can start to hold up, the Trojans have a real chance to run the table if they can pass this test in Boulder. Williams has thrown for 1,200 yards, with fifteen touchdowns to zero interceptions on the season.
Colorado Buffaloes Game Notes
Colorado moved to 3-1 after losing to Oregon in Eugene, 42-6. The Buffaloes were unable to keep their momentum going at the Zoo, and they’ll attempt to regroup here at home. Colorado is scoring 32.5 ppg, while passing for 353.3 yards per game, and rushing for 55.8 ypg. The Buffalo defense allows 33.2 points per game.
Shedeur Sanders struggled last weekend against Oregon, passing for a season-low 159 yards, with a touchdown toss. The junior quarterback has been much sharper than that through the course of the season, as he was also sacked seven times due to poor protection up front, and he’ll attempt to remind the nation why he’s a Heisman candidate this weekend against the men of Troy. Sanders has passed for 1,410 yards, with 11 touchdowns to one interception.
