Utah State Aggies Game Notes
Utah State redshirt junior QB Jason Shelley completed 14-of-27 passes for just 92 yards with an interception in a 42-13 loss to Boise State on Saturday. Not a strong start to Shelley’s time with the Aggies. The former Utah signal-caller was fortunate to not be picked off more often, and couldn’t get the ball downfield. To be fair to the 5-foot-11, 200-pound quarterback, he’s playing with a short deck, as Utah State is not exactly loaded in terms of playmakers outside of Jaylen Warren. Still, Shelley has to be better if Utah State has any chance of completing in the MWC.
Nevada Wolf Pack Game Notes
Nevada redshirt sophomore QB Carson Strong completed 21-of-27 passes for 350 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 37-19 win over UNLV. It is early in the year, but one could make the case that Strong has shown some of the most development of any QB in the country this year. Just a redshirt sophomore, Strong has come on, well, strong in his second year of play. Through two games, Strong now has six passing touchdowns and over nine yards per passing attempt. Wyoming (last week’s opponent) and UNLV do not have particularly great defenses, but he carved them up about as well as anyone could ask. Nevada play Utah State on a short week this Thursday.

On the other side, the over is 4-1 in the Wolf Pack’s last five games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous contest.
