Utah Utes Gophers Game Notes
Utah sophomore QB Cameron Rising completed 15-of-24 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Friday’s 38-10 win over Oregon. For the second time in three weeks, Utah has absolutely smash Oregon, as the Utes beat the Ducks 38-7 on November 20th. Rising (6’2/220) didn’t need to do much in this one, as the Utes held a 23-0 lead at halftime, and a 31-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Rising did get on the board with a touchdown pass late in the second quarter, when he found Dalton Kincaid on an 11-yard touchdown pass to put Utah up 20-0 with 31 second remaining in the first half. Rising also rushed nine times for 61 yards, and has now thrown for 2,279 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions. Rising and the Utes now head to the Rose Bowl after winning the Pac-12 championship for the first time in school history.
Ohio State Buckeyes Game Notes
Ohio State senior WR Chris Olave has opted out of the Rose Bowl. Olave (6’1″/189) follows on the heels of fellow WR Garrett Wilson in opting out of the Rose Bowl. Olave, OSU’s touchdown leader, will not play the last game of his senior season. Olave, along with Wilson, are projected top picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, and since this isn’t a playoff game it just makes sense. Olave certainly made his mark on the program and will now move on.
