Stanford Stadium, Stanford, CA

Utah Utes Game Notes

Utah sophomore QB Cameron Rising completed 17-of-27 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday’s 44-24 win over UCLA. Rising (6’2/220) also racked up six rushing attempts for 63 yards and a touchdown, leading all players in the game with 10.5 yards per rushing attempt. The quarterback, who looks a bit like actors Adam Driver or Keanu Reaves, has taken advantage of the situation which saw QB Charlie Brewer quit the program. It might be the best thing to happen to the Utes, as Rising has made this team the one to beat in the Pac-12 South. He has three rushing scores in the past four outings. Utah visits “The Farm” on Friday, looking to topple Stanford.

Stanford Cardinal Gophers Game Notes

Stanford freshman QB Tanner McKee (undisclosed) is considered questionable ahead of Friday night’s matchup against Utah. There were no reports of McKee (6’6/228) suffering an injury last week, but head coach David Shaw said that he is questionable for Friday night, and that if he is unable to go, that quarterbacks Jack West and Isaiah Sanders would both see action against Utah. On the year, McKee has thrown for 1,920 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 64.8% of his passes.
