Virginia well rested
Virginia is coming off a bye week a week after losing 35-21 at NC State. The Cavaliers are now 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in the ACC. They are 4-1 against the spread while hitting the over in three of their five games. They are 2-1 with the over at home.
UVA has been pretty respectable on defense this season, allowing just 20.4 points and 324.6 yards per game. Their pass defense is giving up just 198.4 yards per game. On offense, Virginia is putting up 30.2 points and 418 yards per game. Jordan Ellis and Bryce Perkins have combined for 819 rushing yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense. Perkins has also thrown for 1,125 yards and 11 touchdowns with four interceptions.
Miami on win streak
Miami overcame a 27-7 deficit against Florida State last week to pick up a 28-27 win. The Hurricanes have won five straight and are now 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the ACC. The Canes are 3-3 against the spread and 5-1 with the over. They have hit the over in both road games this season.
The Miami defense has been the strength of the team this year. The Canes are allowing just 18.5 points and 237.3 yards per game. Offensively, Miami is averaging 41.5 points and 409.5 yards per game. The team has went to N’Kosi Perry at quarterback and he has thrown or 646 yards with 11 touchdowns this season. Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas have combined for 803 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
College Football Betting Trends
Virginia
The Cavs have hit the under in five of their last six games in October and 23-11-1 with the under in its last 35 conference games.
Miami
Miami is 8-2 with the under in its last 10 road games and 8-3 in their last 11 ACC games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in three of their last four meetings and I like the under again today. The Cavaliers and Hurricanes are led by their defenses, so this should be a game where points are hard to come by as is. I also expect Miami to have a little bit of a letdown after the emotional comeback win against Florida State last week. This could be a really ugly football game.
