Brennan Armstrong passed for 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception to go along with 23 rushing yards and one touchdown in Saturday’s 38-17 loss to Duke. Wells scored the only two touchdowns for the Cavaliers in Saturday’s loss. The quarterback has thrown an interception in all but one game this season and has five total. Armstrong has struggled so far this season, Saturday marked his fourth straight game completing under 60 percent of his passes.

Coach Brent Key said Monday that Jeff Sims (undisclosed) is labeled as day-to-day ahead of Thursday’s game against Virginia, Kelly Quinlan of JacketsOnline.com reports. Sims’ availability for Thursday’s contest against the Cavaliers appears up in the air, after he exited late in the game versus Duke in Week 6 with an unspecified injury. If the sophomore quarterback is unable to gain medical clearance to play against Virginia on Thursday, Zach Gibson would likely be next in line under center for Georgia Tech.
