According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, Houston is favored in today’s championship game, as the Cougars are getting odds of -5.5 points against Temple. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 53 points. These two meet today at Noon ET on ABC from TDECU Stadium in Houston.

Houston (11-1 overall, 7-5 ATS) has one of the top offenses in the nation, averaging 42 points and just a hair under 500 yards per game. The big reason for those offensive numbers is Ward Jr., a dual-threat quarterback. Ward has thrown for 2,501 yards and 16 touchdowns but has also run for 899 yards with 17 touchdowns. The 17 scores ranks eighth in the nation.

Temple (10-2 overall, 9-3 ATS) brings in a very strong run defense that will look to contain Ward from the pocket. Temple allows just 117.4 rushing yards per game, which ranks 11th in the country. Along with stopping Ward, Houston back Kenneth Farrow has run for 949 yards and 12 scores, so the Owls may have their hands full, assuming Farrow can play with his foot injury that has him questionable. Ward is coming off a 308-yard passing effort with 3 touchdowns and 83 rushing yards with a score in a 52-31 win over Navy last week.
