Washington State vs. Arizona Predictions Against the Spread 10/28/17

Wash State vs. Arizona Prediction

Can Arizona pull off the small upset and beat Washington State tonight when the Pac-12 rivals meet at 9:30PM ET?

ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Washington State. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cougars opened as a 2.5-point road favorite but the line has been bet down to 1.5. As for the total, the number hit the board at 61.5 but has been bet up to 63 at the majority of sports books.

THE PUBLIC LIKES: Washington State. The Cougars are 7-1 straight up and 5-3 against the spread this year. They’re receiving 63% of the tickets in this game against the Wildcats, who are 5-2 on the field and 4-3 at the betting window.

HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: Conflicted. The Cougars are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus the Wildcats but the underdog has cashed in 11 of the last 15 meetings. Washington State is also 4-1 against the spread in its last five conference games while Arizona is just 3-9 at the betting window in its last 12 games against Pac-12 opponents.

WHO WE LIKE: Arizona. The Cougars smacked the Wildcats last year as Washington State cored on its first six possessions. That said, Khalil Tate is one of the most explosive players in the nation. He’s averaging 231 rushing yards per game and 16.1 yards per carry over his last three games. The Cougars have a nasty defense, led by an athletic front seven that helped shutout Colorado 28-0 last week. That said, I have a gut feeling Tate is going to do his thing to lead Arizona to a small upset as a home underdog. Plus, there’s something that smells fishy about this line. Washington State got back on track last week and Arizona is completely off the public’s radar. So why are the Cougars only laying 1.5 points?
