Washington State Cougars Game Notes

Washington State freshman QB Jayden de Laura completed 18-of-29 passes for 134 yards and two interceptions in a 38-13 loss to Washington State. de Laura (6’0/195) threw two first quarter interceptions in WSU territory that led directly to touchdowns as the fledgling freshman quarterback put forth the worst performance of his young career. How bad was it? He was credited with an abysmal 8.4 quarterback rating and was pulled in favor of Cammon Cooper and Gunner Cruz in the second half with Washington State facing a 38-6 deficit. The Cougars’ 263 yards of total offense was a season low. Wazzou wraps up their shortened season this Saturday against Cal

Utah Utes Game Notes

Utah senior QB Jake Bentley completed 20-of-32 passes for 240 yards, two touchdowns and an interceptions in Saturday’s 38-21 win over Colorado. Going all the way back to his days as a South Carolina starter, this is the first time Bentley has beaten a ranked team on the road. Bentley (6’4/220) wasn’t the sharpest early, and Colorado staked itself to a 21-10 lead at the start of the third quarter. But in the second half, Bentley was probably the sharpest that we’ve seen him over the past few years. He’s always had talent, but his confidence took a beating over the years while leading the Gamecocks. Utah finishes the regular season 2-2, but Bentley and his teammates may now be going bowling.

Washington State vs. Utah Betting Prediction

The over has cashed in five of the last seven meetings between these two teams and is 8-1 in Washington State’s last nine games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in its previous contest. The over is also 6-2 in the Cougars’ last eight conference games, is 8-3 in their last 11 games as a road underdog and has cashed in 12 of their last 17 road games.

On the other side, the over is a perfect 4-0 in the Utes’ last four home games versus a team with a losing road record, is 4-1-1 in their last six games coming off an ATS win and is 4-1 in Utah’s last five games played in the month of December.
