Washington Huskies Game Notes
Michael Penix was 30-for-52 passing for 298 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Friday’s 24-21 win over Oregon State. He also rushed twice fir eight yards. Friday’s contest was back-and -forth, but Penix took control when it mattered and put the Huskies in position to kick what turned out to be the game-winning field goal. Aside from the late drive, Penix put up another excellent line, keeping him in rarified air as one of the nation’s best quarterbacks.
Oregon Ducks Game Notes
Bo Nix was 20-for-24 passing for 274 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday’s 49-10 victory against Colorado. He also had nine rushes for 16 yards with two touchdowns, and one catch for 18 yards and a touchdown. If there ever was a game to showcase Nix as a Heisman hopeful, it was Saturday’s win, where he passed, rushed and caught touchdowns. Aside from the loss to Georgia in Week 1, few quarterbacks have been as successful as Nix, and he deserves serious consideration to be a Heisman finalist. He’ll look to keep the production rolling against the Huskies next week.
