Maryland defeated Miami 32-24 in its season opener a few weeks ago. The Terps posted 499 yards of offense in the win with quarterback Danny O’Brien throwing for 348 yards and one touchdown on 31-of-44 passing. On defense, Maryland allowed 367 yards but held Miami to just 195 passing yards while forcing four turnovers.
West Virginia is 2-0 on the season, averaging 44.5 points per game while allowing just 12.5. The Mountaineers have been led this season by quarterback Geno Smith, who has thrown for 620 yards and six touchdowns in the two games. On defense, WVU has not given up more than 290 yards in a game this season, but they have yet to get a turnover on the year.
In terms of Injuries, West Virginia running back Shawne Alston is questionable with a neck injury while Maryland offensive linemen Stephen Grommer, Justin Gilbert, and Pete DeSouza are all questionable to play because of leg injuries.
