West Virginia Mountaineers Game Notes

JT Daniels completed 20 of 30 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s 33-10 win at Virginia Tech. Daniels amassed just a single touchdown for the second week in a row. West Virginia has turned back to their run-heavy approach which led to just 27 passing attempts per game for Daniels in his last two games after he opened the season with 40 attempts in each of the first two contests. He’ll likely need to throw the ball a bit more in a tough conference game at Texas next week.

Texas Longhorns Game Notes

Quinn Ewers (collarbone) will not play Saturday against West Virginia but could return against Oklahoma in Week 6, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com. Ewers is getting close to a return but Texas will hold him out another week at least. Hudson Card is in line to make another start for the Longhorns as they host West Virginia.
