Will LA Tech & Western Kentucky light up the scoreboard Saturday? 12/3/16

LA Tech vs. Western Kentucky Pick

Will Western Kentucky and Louisiana Tech light up the scoreboard on Saturday when the two teams play in the Conference USA title game?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Hilltoppers are now 10-point favorites versus the Bulldogs after opening as a 7.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number has jumped from 73.5 all the way up to 81.5.

Bet the Conference USA Championship Game

The Bulldogs had their seven-game winning streak snapped by Southern Miss last Friday, falling to the Golden Eagles 39-24 as a 14.5-point favorite. LA Tech still finished with the best record in the West Division by two wins, going 8-4 on the year and 6-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs also did quite well at the betting window this season, covering in eight of their 12 games on the year.

The Hilltoppers won six consecutive games to close out their regular season, capping off an excellent 2016 campaign with a 60-6 thumping of Marshall last Saturday on the road. Western Kentucky cover the spread in four of its last five games, including in back-to-back wins over North Texas and Marshall as four-touchdown favorites. The Hilltoppers actually finished with the same 7-1 conference record as Old Dominion, but they beat the Monarchs 59-24 back in October so they have the opportunity to play on Saturday.

OUR PREDICTION: The over is 6-1 in the Bulldogs’ last seven games overall, is 5-1 in their last six road games and is 5-1 in their last six conference games. On the other side, the over is 8-2 in the HIlltoppers’ last 11 games versus an opponent with a winning record, is 5-2 in their last seven games overall and has cashed in six of their last seven games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. Western Kentucky hasn’t scored less than 50 points since its last game in October and the Hilltoppers only seem to be getting more explosive offensively as the weeks wear on. LA Tech is coming off the loss to Southern Miss, but the Bulldogs should score plenty on Saturday, too.
