Freeman to dominate TCU?
Trevone Boykin may be suspended for the Alamo Bowl, but Royce Freeman isn’t. Will he lead Oregon to a win over TCU tonight?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Oregon is favored in tonight’s game, as the Ducks are getting odds of -6.5 points against the Horned Frogs. The over/under total for the game has been set at 74.5 points. These two meet tonight at 6:45PM ET on ESPN. The game is being held from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.
TCU (10-2, 6-6 ATS) took a big hit this week when Boykin was arrested, then subsequently suspended for the game. Now, Oregon (9-3, 7-5 ATS) has emerged as the favorite and the Ducks have the most explosive player in the contest in Freeman. The 5-11 sophomore has rushed for 1,706 yards and 14 touchdowns this season while catching 24 passes for 325 yards and two more scores. For today’s bowl game, Freeman has been given an over/under of 142.5 rushing yards.
Freeman and Oregon are up against a TCU defense that has struggled to stop the run. The Horned Frogs rank 79th in the nation in run defense, allowing 182.7 yards per game. Freeman has 10 games over 100 yards this season and he has hit at least 143 yards in seven games this season, including three of his last four outings. Freeman has had at least 20 carries in those seven games, so if Oregon feeds him the ball, he should be able to hit the over.
