Wyoming Cowboys Game Notes
Wyoming redshirt sophomore QB Sean Chambers (leg) had underwent surgery to repair a fractured left fibula and will miss the remainder of the season. Wyoming travels to Fort Collins to take on Colorado State on Thursday night. It’s another terrible break for Chambers (6’3/218) who also had his 2019 season ended with a knee injury against Nevada. His recent injury occurred when he landed awkwardly following a third-down rushing attempt. In a strange twist of fate, both injuries occurred against Nevada. Sophomore Levi Williams will now take the reins for the Cowboys.
Colorado State Rams Game Notes
Colorado State redshirt junior QB Todd Centeio completed 10-of-23 passes for 141 yards while rushing 13 times for 80 yards in a 37-17 loss to Fresno State on Thursday. Centeio (6’1/210) struggled to move the ball all day against a Fresno State defense that allowed 552 yards against Hawaii the week prior. He was more effective on the ground than in the air, but was showed up by Patrick O’Brien who entered the game in the fourth quarter and promptly completed seven-of-10 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. O’Brien had not practiced much in fall camp due to an unspecified injury, which allowed Centeio to receive the starting nod against FSU. The Temple transfer will battle to keep his starting job in practice this week ahead of next Thursday’s game against Wyoming.
