Wyoming ends on whimper
Wyoming lost three of its last four games to end the regular season, including a 20-6 loss at Air Force in the season finale. The Cowboys are 7-5 on the season, 7-5 against the spread and 9-3 with the under.
The Cowboys are struggling on offense this year. They are putting up just 24.3 points and 336.7 yards per game. Defensively, Wyoming is giving up just 17.8 points and 366.7 yards per contest. Their rush defense is one of the best in the nation, allowing only 101.6 yards per game. Xazavian Valladay is leading the offense with 1,061 rushing yards and five touchdowns. QB Sean Chambers had thrown for 915 yards and seven scores while rushing for 567 yards and 10 touchdowns, but he is out for the game with an injury. Tyler Vander Waal is also questionable. He has thrown or 512 yards and a TD. The defense is led by Logan Wilson, who has 98 tackles and four interceptions.
Georgia State struggles down the road
Like Wyoming, Georgia State ended the season on a low note, dropping three of their last four games as well. That includes a 38-10 loss at Georgia Southern in the season finale. The Bulldogs are 7-5 on the season, 6-4-2 against the spread and 6-6 with the over/under total.
The Bulldogs have a very potent offense, averaging 32.4 points and 446.9 yards per game thanks to a strong rushing attack that averages 245.2 yards per game. Defensively, Georgia Southern has been a mess. They are giving up 36.1 points and 450.8 yards per contest. Dan Ellington is leading the offense with 2,291 passing yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for 598 yards and five scores. Tra Barnett is adding 1,389 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Cornelius McCoy is adding 65 receptions for 679 yards and four touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Wyoming
The Cowboys are 28-10-1 with the under in their last 39 games overall and 18-7-1 with the under in their last 26 against a winning team.
Georgia State
The Bulldogs are 5-1 with the under in their last six games on grass and 7-3 with the over in their last 10 games following a loss.
Prediction:
Its bad vs. good on both sides of the ball in this matchup and its hard to say which one will win out. At its best, Wyoming is still limited to 31 points or less and that means it is likely holding its opponent to few points. If Georgia State is going to win, it is probably going to be a high-scoring battle. However, I think the Bulldogs are going to struggle to get stops on defense against Wyoming. The Cowboys are going to look to hold the ball and drag out possessions, which should keep the score pretty low.
