HONOLULU (AP) -Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan, who has a sprained right ankle, did not start Saturday night against Charleston Southern.
Backup Tyler Graunke started for No. 19 Hawaii and threw an interception on the Warriors’ first play. Brennan was suited up and participated in pre-game drills.
Brennan was injured last week but still played against UNLV, leading Hawaii to a 49-14 win. Even with his ankle swollen and discolored, he ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more in three quarters.
An MRI earlier this week revealed no serious damage.
Brennan was on crutches and wore a light brace earlier this week and practiced Thursday and Friday.
In three games, Brennan has passed for 1,262 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has completed 77 percent of his passes with just one interception.
