-Joe Ganz, Nebraska, set school records by throwing for 510 yards and seven touchdowns in a 73-31 rout of Kansas State. His seven TD passes were the most for the Cornhuskers since 2001 Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch threw for five against Iowa State in 2000.
-Colt McCoy, Texas, passed for 269 yards and four touchdowns and ran for two more scores, leading the No. 15 Longhorns over Texas Tech 59-43.

-Ben Mauk, Cincinnati, threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score to help the Bearcats beat No. 16 Connecticut 27-3.
-Knowshon Moreno, Georgia, broke 100 yards rushing for the fourth straight game, finishing with 101 yards and a pair of scores in the No. 10 Bulldogs’ 45-20 win over No. 18 Auburn.
-Bobby Sewall, Brown, rushed for 144 yards and four touchdowns, caught 18 passes for 141 yards and threw a touchdown pass, leading the Bears to a 56-35 victory over Dartmouth.
-Paul Smith, Tulsa, threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns to help beat Houston 56-7. Smith now holds school records for single-season (3,496) and career (9,367) yards passing.
-Zach Amedro, West Liberty, threw for 518 yards and five touchdowns in a 70-43 win over Seton Hill.
UPSET
Top-ranked Ohio State’s record streak of 20 Big Ten wins was snapped with a 28-21 loss to Illinois. It was the first time the Illini had beaten a No. 1 since 1956, and the first time it had done it away from home. The Buckeyes’ loss knocked them into a tie for the top spot in the Big Ten after No. 13 Michigan’s 37-21 loss to Wisconsin. … Wisconsin’s 37-21 upset win over the No. 13 Wolverines snapped Michigan’s eight-game winning streak. The loss doesn’t eliminate Michigan from a Rose Bowl appearance, but the Wolverines have to beat Ohio State next week – something they haven’t done since 2003. … Cincinnati defeated the only unbeaten team in the Big East with a 27-3 win over No. 16 Connecticut. The Bearcats’ eight regular-season wins are their most since 1993. … Anthony Johnson returned an interception a school-record 100 yards for a touchdown, and Mississippi State became bowl eligible for the first time since 2000 with a 17-12 upset of No. 21 Alabama. The return broke Jack Nix’s 70-year-old mark of 97 yards and gave the Bulldogs a 10-9 halftime lead.

Florida State coach Bobby Bowden lost to No. 11 Virginia Tech for the first time in 16 career meetings. The 40-21 victory was Hokies coach Frank Beamer’s first in eight tries against the Seminoles.
BACK IN BLACK
The No. 10 Bulldogs, donning black jerseys for the first time in the modern era, beat 18th-ranked Auburn 45-20. When Georgia charged out through the main entrance wearing the uniforms,the 92,000 fans celebrated to the AC/DC anthem “Back in Black.”
IRISH EYES CRYING
Notre Dame was handed a school-record ninth loss this season with a 41-24 defeat by Air Force. It was the largest margin of victory for the Falcons in six wins over the Fighting Irish, who lost to Navy in triple overtime last week. The last time the Irish lost to two military academies in the same season was 1944.

GOPHER BROKE
Iowa became bowl eligible and sent Minnesota to its ninth straight loss with a 21-16 victory. The Golden Gophers have lost 10 games for just the second time in school history. Only a win against Wisconsin next week will prevent Minnesota’s first winless season in the Big Ten since 1988.
IVY SHOWDOWN
Harvard beat Penn 23-7 to set up a showdown with archrival Yale next weekend for the Ivy League championship. The Crimson and the Bulldogs, who beat Princeton 27-6, are both 6-0 in the league going into The Game for the first time since 1968.
