BLUE CRUSHED
Jim Tressel became the first Ohio State coach to beat Michigan six times in seven years, and the seventh-ranked Buckeyes’ 14-3 victory over their archrival gave them consecutive outright Big Ten titles. Ohio State has claimed three Big Ten titles in a row, earning the last two outright for the first time since 1954-55. It’s the longest streak of conference championships since Michigan won five in a row from 1988-92.

Tim Tebow became the first player in NCAA history with at least 20 touchdowns passing and rushing in the same season, helping No. 14 Florida hammer Florida Atlantic 59-20. Tebow finished 25-of-34 passing for a career-high 338 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score. He has 20 rushing touchdowns and 26 TD passes. His 20th on the ground broke the previous SEC single-season record of 19 held by Georgia’s Garrison Hearst (1992), Alabama’s Shaun Alexander (1999) and LSU’s LaBrandon Toefield (2001).

Bobby Bowden won his 300th game at Florida State, getting 133 yards and a touchdown from Preston Parker in a 24-16 victory against Maryland. Bowden now has 373 career coaching wins, the most in major college history. … Matt Forte rushed for 194 yards to eclipse 2,000 for the season, and he scored five touchdowns to lead Tulane past Rice 45-31. Forte is the first back in the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) with 2,000 yards in a season since California’s J.J. Arrington in 2004.

Quintez Secka had two interceptions and Louisiana-Monroe pulled off a 21-14 upset of Alabama, sending the Crimson Tide to a third consecutive defeat.
