BLUE CRUSHED
Jim Tressel became the first Ohio State coach to beat Michigan six times in seven years, and the seventh-ranked Buckeyes’ 14-3 victory over their archrival gave them consecutive outright Big Ten titles. Ohio State has claimed three Big Ten titles in a row, earning the last two outright for the first time since 1954-55. It’s the longest streak of conference championships since Michigan won five in a row from 1988-92.

Led by the passing of quarterback Graham Harrell, Texas Tech knocked No. 3 Oklahoma out of the national title chase Saturday night with a 34-27 victory. Harrell completed 47 of a career-high 72 passes for 420 yards and two touchdowns as the Red Raiders became the 11th unranked team this season to defeat a top-five team.

RETURN OF THE MAC
Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin scored three touchdowns and had 252 total yards to set the NCAA single-season freshman record for all-purpose yards, helping the No. 6 Tigers beat Kansas State 49-32. Maclin returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and caught two touchdown passes, giving him 2,201 all-purpose yards for the season – 175 more than Terrell Willis of Rutgers had in 1993. Maclin finished with nine catches for 143 yards.
MILESTONES
Bobby Bowden won his 300th game at Florida State, getting 133 yards and a touchdown from Preston Parker in a 24-16 victory against Maryland. Bowden now has 373 career coaching wins, the most in major college history. … Matt Forte rushed for 194 yards to eclipse 2,000 for the season, and he scored five touchdowns to lead Tulane past Rice 45-31. Forte is the first back in the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) with 2,000 yards in a season since California’s J.J. Arrington in 2004.

Oklahoma State beat Baylor 45-14, giving the Bears their 12th straight losing season. The Bears are the only Big 12 team without a bowl appearance since the conference’s inception in 1996. This was the fourth time they didn’t win a league game. Only two other teams have gone 0-8 in the Big 12 – Kansas in 2002 and Iowa State in 2003.
