FARGO, N.D. (AP) North Dakota State begins its hunt for its seventh Football Championship Subdivision title in eight years with a familiar ingredient – a high-quality quarterback with plenty of experience.
Senior Easton Stick will be shooting for his 46th career victory Saturday when the undefeated Bison play a home playoff game against Montana State. He would set the team record for wins with another national championship.
Stick owns school records for total offense, passing touchdowns and total touchdowns. He was preceded by FCS title-winning quarterbacks Carson Wentz, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, and Brock Jensen.
Bison coach Chris Klieman says the best teams in football have what he calls ”a trigger man,” and Stick has the ability to keep other players relaxed and bring out their best.
