Irish look to end turnover problems vs Louisville

 

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Notre Dame will try to solve its turnover problem Saturday against Louisville, which leads the nation with 22 interceptions.
The Cardinals are led by safety Gerod Holliman, whose 13 interceptions are one shy of the NCAA record. That’s a major concern for the Fighting Irish (7-3). They’ve turned the ball over nine times in back-to-back losses to Arizona State and Northwestern. Everett Golson has been especially troublesome with 19 turnovers in seven games, 12 on interceptions.
Coach Brian Kelly says the Irish have been sloppy, with three of their four fumbles the past two games not being caused by hits. Kelly also says Golson needs to know where Holliman is on every passing play.
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino says the Irish offense keeps scoring despite the turnovers.
