EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -Michigan running back Mike Hart and quarterback Chad Henne started Saturday against Michigan State after being sidelined with injuries.
Hart was not on the field when the second half began, but returned for the second drive after halftime.
Hart missed 2 1/2 games after appearing to injure his right ankle. Henne was out the previous week after hurting his right shoulder Oct. 20 at Illinois.
Both expected to play for the 15th-ranked Wolverines against the Spartans, but coach Lloyd Carr was noncommittal.
Hart ran for 8 yards on Michigan’s first play and Henne later completed his first pass, but missed a wide-open receiver and a chance to score a touchdown on the drive.
On the second drive, Hart burst up the middle for 37 yards before Chad Henne threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Mario Manningham, giving the Wolverines a 7-3 lead.
