LORETTO, Pa. (AP) -Brett Burke threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns as Monmouth (N.J.) beat St. Francis (Pa.), 47-17 Saturday.
Adam San Miguel had seven receptions for 134 yards and two touchdowns and David Sinisi rushed for 187 yards and a score and passed for another touchdown for Monmouth (3-5, 3-2 Northeast Conference), which led 23-0 at halftime and gained 463 total yards.
Antoine Rivera caught five passes for 106 yards and had both touchdowns for St. Francis (1-7, 1-4). St. Francis was coming off its lone win of the season but did not win a game at home this season. St. Francis’ George Little was 12-for-33 for 204 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
San Miguel had a 47-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter and a 58-yard scoring catch in the fourth. Burke also threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Steve Dowens.
Monmouth took its lead on a 1-yard run by Sinisi 8:21 into the contest, and John Nalbone caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Sinisi less than two minutes later.
Fred Weingart added a 36-yard field goal and Marion Easley a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for Monmouth. Adam Sciulli’s 31-yard field goal midway through the third quarter for St. Francis’ first score.
Calvin Williams had 24 carries for 97 yards to lead St. Francis, which had two of its first three drives ended by interceptions.
