Lions vs. Eagles Week 6 Odds
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – The Eagles will look to bounce back this Sunday when they host a struggling Lions team coming off a bye. Game time is for 1:00PM ET – let’s check out the odds.
DETROIT: After qualifying for the playoffs last season many had high hopes for the Lions heading into 2012. But Detroit is off to a miserable 1-3 start, dropping three in a row after barely beating the Rams 27-23 in Week 1. The Lions have failed to cover the spread in each of their first four games, including in Week 4 when they lost 20-13 to the Vikings in Detroit. Matthew Stafford has thrown for a team-high 1,182 yards while Calvin Johnson has 423 receiving yards. But the Lions’ offense has largely been off-track and their special teams have been nothing short of a disaster.
PHILADELPHIA: The Eagles fell to 3-2 on the season with a 16-14 loss to the Steelers last Sunday in Pittsburgh. The Eagles did cover the spread, however, but are just 1-3-1 against the number this season. Michael Vick leads the team with 1,321 passing yards while LeSean McCoy has 437 rushing yards and Jeremy Maclin has a team-high two touchdowns. The under is 4-1 in the Eagles’ first five games, with the only over coming in a 24-23 win over the Ravens in Week 2. The Eagles are currently tied with the Giants in the NFC East, although Philadelphia holds the tie-breaker after beating New York 19-17 in Week 4.
ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Eagles is 4.5-point home favorites over the Lions while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47.5 points. Detroit is 1-3 overall and 0-2 on the road, while Philadelphia is 3-2 overall and 2-0 at home.
TRENDS: The home team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the Lions are 1-4 against the number in the last five meetings. Detroit is also 0-6-1 ATS in its last seven road games and 1-11 ATS in its last 12 games versus the NFC. The Eagles, meanwhile, are 4-1 ATS in their last five games in Week 6 but 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
