49ers vs. Saints Week 12 Odds
NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – One of the better matchups of Week 12 will take place in New Orleans this Sunday when the Saints host the 49ers at 4:25PM ET.
SAN FRANCISCO: The 49ers won their third game in four weeks by crushing the Bears 32-7 on Monday Night Football. Second-year player Colin Kapernick started in place of Alex Smith (concussion) and was outstanding, completing 16-of-23 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The performance earned him another start, as he’ll play Sunday versus a New Orleans defense that is seemingly improving. The 49ers are now 7-2-1 on the season and 6-4 against the spread after covering as a 3.5-point favorite versus Chicago. While they’re looking good for a playoff spot, San Francisco has to keep winning because Seattle is just one game back of the Niners in the NFC West.
NEW ORLEANS: The Saints won their third straight game with an impressive 38-17 win over the Raiders last Sunday. It was also the third time they covered the spread in the past three weeks, as they won as a 6-point favorite. The Saints have successfully erased a 0-4 start and are now 5-5 after winning four of their last five games. They’re also 6-4 against the spread and have covered in six of their last seven games. Perhaps there’s no team that is hotter right now than Drew Brees and the Saints, who probably need to win five of their last six games in order to secure a playoff spot.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Saints are 1-point favorites over the 49ers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 48 points. San Francisco enters play with a 7-2 overall and 3-1 on the road, while New Orleans is 5-5 overall and 3-2 at home.
TRENDS: The 49ers are 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games versus the Saints and 2-5 ATS in their last seven trips to New Orleans. The home team is also 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the over is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings.
