PITTSBURGH: The Steelers are coming off a 34-24 loss to the Chargers at home last week. It was a surprising loss for Pittsburgh, who had Ben Roethlisberger return at quarterback, and the Steelers were coming off an emotion win at Baltimore the week before. Pittsburgh has now lost three of its last four games. San Diego had just 294 total yards in the game, but the Steelers gave up a touchdown on offense and fell behind 27-3. The Steelers put up 340 yards, but much came in garbage time. Big Ben finished the game 22 of 42 passing for 285 yards and three touchdowns. The issue for the offense was it had just 69 rushing yards.
DALLAS: The Cowboys are coming off a 20-19 win over the Bengals last week on the road to win their fourth game in five weeks and remain one game out of first place in the NFC East standings. In Sunday’s win, the Cowboys were down 19-10 entering the fourth quarter, but still managed to win with a 40-yard field goal as time expired. Dallas had just 49 rushing yards in the win, but Tony Romo ended up 25 of 43 passing for 268 yards with one touchdown. Defensively, Dallas held the Bengals to 336 total yards, including 190 yards through the air.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Steelers are 1-point favorites versus the Cowboys, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44.5 points. Pittsburgh is 7-6 on the season, 3-4 on the road and 5-7-1 against the spread. Dallas is 7-6 overall, 3-3 at home and 5-8 against the spread.
TRENDS: The Cowboys are just 5-17 against the spread in their last 22 home games and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games following a win. Pittsburgh is 11-2 against the spread in their last 13 games following a loss but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Cowboys have hit the over in 4 of their last 5 home games.
