DENVER, CO (The Spread) – The Broncos are looking to wrap up a bye in the playoffs, and maybe even the No. 1 seed when they host the Chiefs on Sunday at 4:25PM ET on CBS.

KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs covered the spread against Denver at home earlier this season in a 17-9 loss on Nov. 25. Kansas City is coming off a 20-13 loss to the Colts last week for their third straight loss. Despite the struggles this season, the Chiefs have had five losses come by single digits, including the previous loss to the Broncos. Last week, the Chiefs managed to lose despite racking up 507 yards of offense and holding the Colts to just 288 total yards. Kansas City had three turnovers in the loss, including an interception for a touchdown. The real bright spot for Kansas City was running back Jamaal Charles, who rushed for 226 yards and touchdown on just 22 carries. Charles has now rushed for 1,456 yards and five touchdowns on the season after suffering an ACL injury last season.
DENVER: After a 2-3 start to the season, the Broncos have won 10 straight thanks to a 34-12 win over the Browns last week. Denver is the AFC West champion and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs right now. They will lock up at least a bye in the playoffs with a win this week and can get the No. 1 seed with a win and a loss by the Texans. If Denver loses and New England wins, the Broncos will be the No. 3 seed. In last week’s win over Cleveland, the Broncos racked up 457 total yards of offense while the defense held Cleveland to just 233 yards. The defense also had six sacks in the victory with Von Miller getting 1.5. Miller has 17.5 sacks on the season now. Peyton Manning had another solid game as well, throwing for 339 yards and three touchdowns on 30 of 43 passing. Manning has 4,355 yards and 34 touchdowns for the season.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Denver is the clear favorite at home, as the Broncos have odds of -16 points against the Chiefs. The over/under total has been set at 42 points. Denver is 12-3 on the season, 6-1 at home and 9-6 against the spread. Kansas City is 2-13 overall, 1-6 on the road and 5-10 against the spread.
TRENDS: The underdog has covered the spread in the last six games between these two teams and the road team is 6-2 against the spread in the last 8 games in this series. These two teams have also combined to hit the under in their last four encounters.
