Panthers vs. Eagles Week 12 Odds
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – In yet another brutal Monday Night Football matchup, the 3-7 Eagles will host the 2-8 Panthers at 8:30PM ET.
CAROLINA: The Panthers had a victory almost sewn up last Sunday before they blew an 11-point lead late and went on to lose 27-21 to the Bucs in overtime. It was Carolina’s second straight loss and its seventh loss in its last eight games. The Panthers have sunk to the bottom of the NFC South where they’re 2-8 and have no shot of clinching a playoff berth. For all intents and purposes, Cam Newton has been a disaster this season and the Panther offense can’t seem to find any consistency. The Panthers have also failed to cover the spread in their last two games and are 4-6 against the spread this season.
PHILADELPHIA: With their embarrassing 31-6 loss to the Redskins last Sunday, the Eagles have now lost six in a row and have failed to cover the spread in their last five games as well. At 3-7 they’re sitting in last place in the NFC East with no shot of making the postseason, unless they sweep their remaining nine games and get a little help. With Michael Vick still on the mend because of a concussion, rookie Nick Foles will start again for Philadelphia. He as brutal last week versus Washington while completing 21-of-46 passes for just 204 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. LeSean “Shady” McCoy was also knocked out of that game due to a concussion, so Bryce Brown will start in his place.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Panthers are 1-point favorites over the Eagles, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 41 points. Carolina is 2-8 overall and 1-3 on the road, while Philadelphia is 3-7 overall and 2-3 at home.
TRENDS: The Panthers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Eagles, who are 0-6-1 against the spread in their last seven games versus the NFC, 0-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record, and 0-4 ATS in their last four games in Week 12.
