INDIANAPOLIS: The Colts earned their seventh victory of the season by beating the Bills 20-13 in Week 12. Andrew Luck completed 20-of-37 passes for 240 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Reggie Wayne continued his excellent 2012 by hauling in eight passes for 102 yards. It was Indy’s fifth win in its last six games and the fifth time in the last six games that it covered the spread. The Colts are now 7-4 on the season and 7-4 against the spread as they continue to hold the fifth spot in the AFC playoff picture.
DETROIT: A rare missed field goal by Jason Hansen allowed the Texans to sneak out of Detroit with a 34-31 victory on Thanksgiving Day. Matthew Stafford completed 31-of-61 passes for 441 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions, but his effort went for naught as the Lions lost for the fourth time in their last six games. Calvin Johnson also caught eight passes for 140 yards and one touchdown, while rookie Ryan Broyles snagged six passes for 126 yards. The Lions are now 4-7 on the season and 5-6 against the spread after covering as a 3.5-point home underdog last week. With their playoff hopes all but lost, the Lions will try to at least try to get back to .500 before the season concludes.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Lions are 4.5-point favorites versus the Colts, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 51 points. Indianapolis is 7-4 overall and 2-3 on the road, while Detroit is 4-7 overall and 2-3 at home.
TRENDS: The Colts are 4-0 against the spread versus a team with a losing record, 6-0 ATS in their last six games in December, and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Lions, meanwhile, are 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 games in December.
