KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs lost for the ninth time in their last 10 games when they fell to the Browns 30-7 in Cleveland last Sunday. Brady Quinn completed 10-of-21 passes for 159 yards with one interception in the loss, while Jamaal Charles rushed 18 times for 165 yards with one touchdown. Dwayne Bowe also caught two passes for 70 yards while the defense allowed Josh Gordon to catch eight passes for 86 yards. The loss dropped Kansas City’s record to 2-11 on the year and 5-8 against the spread after the team failed to cover as a 7-point underdog. The Chiefs are out of the playoff mix and are essentially fighting for the No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft.
OAKLAND: The Raiders lost their sixth straight game last Thursday when they fell to the Broncos 26-13 as a 10-point home underdog. Carson Palmer completed 19-of-30 passes for 273 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while Darren McFadden rushed 11 times for 52 yards. Rod Streater caught four passes for 100 yards while Darrius Heyward-Bey hauled in five passes for 82 yards and a score. The loss dropped Oakland to 3-10 overall and 3-10 against the spread. The Raiders haven’t covered the number in six-straight games.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Raiders are 3-point favorites versus the Chiefs, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44 points. Kansas City is 2-11 overall and 1-5 on the road, while Oakland is 3-10 overall and 2-5 at home.
TRENDS: The Chiefs are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine trips to Oakland but 1-4 ATS in their last five games versus the Raiders overall. The under is also 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Oakland and 16-5 in the last 21 meetings overall. The underdog, meanwhile, is 19-7-1 against the number in their last 27 meetings and the road team is 21-5-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings.
