CLEVELAND: The Browns had their three-game winning streak snapped in a 38-21 loss to the Chargers last Sunday. Brandon Weeden completed 21-of-35 passes for 244 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while Trent Richardson rushed for just 28 yards on 11 carries, although he did score two touchdowns. Greg Little, meanwhile, led the team in receiving while catching five passes for 74 yards. The loss dropped Cleveland to 5-9 overall and 8-5-1 against the spread after it failed to cover the 4-point spread last week. DENVER: The Broncos are the hottest team in the league after winning their ninth straight game last Sunday in a 34-17 win over the Ravens. Peyton Manning completed 17-of-28 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown, while Knowshon Moreno rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries and Eric Decker caught eight passes for 133 yards and a score. The victory improved Denver’s record to 11-3 and 8-6 against the spread after covering as a 6-point favorite. It was the second straight game that the Broncos have covered the number and with the AFC West wrapped up, they’ll try to secure home field advantage in the postseason.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos are 13.5-point favorites versus the Browns while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44.5 points. Cleveland is 5-9 overall and 1-5 on the road, while Denver is 11-3 overall and 5-1 at home.
TRENDS: The Browns are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games in December, 4-1 against the number in their last five games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus the AFC. Meanwhile, the Broncos are 16-35-2 against the spread in their last 53 home games and 4-1 against the number in their last five games following an ATS win. Cleveland is also 1-4 against the number in its last five meetings with Denver.
