WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Spread) – The Redskins will look to win their first home game of the season when they host the surprising Vikings at 4:25PM ET on Sunday.
MINNESOTA: The Vikings ran their record to 4-1 with a 30-7 victory over the Titans last Sunday in Minnesota. The Vikes covered the spread for the third straight week, this time as a 6-point home favorite. They’re now 3-2 against the number this season, while the under is 4-1 through Minnesota’s first five games. The only week the Vikings didn’t cover the spread was in Week 2 when they lost 23-20 to the Colts as a 3-point favorite. Second-year quarterback Christian Ponder has thrown for 1,082 yards while Kyle Rudolph has a team-high four touchdowns. Percy Harvin also has 407 yards receiving.
WASHINGTON: The Redskins absorbed their third loss of the season last Sunday, losing 24-17 to the Falcons. Adding injury to insult, rookie signal caller Robert Griffin III was knocked out of the game in the second half with a concussion. RGIII was rolling to the sidelines looking to make a play on third down and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon laid a good lick on him. RGIII is expected to play on Sunday, however, after practicing this week. The rookie has thrown for 1,161 yards this season and has four total touchdowns. Washington is now 2-3 against the spread and 2-3 overall.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Redskins are 1.5-point favorites over the Vikings, while the over/under total is currently unavailable. The Vikings enter this game with a straight up record of 4-1 and are 1-1 on the road, while the Redskins are 2-3 overall and 0-2 at home.
