View Updated 2013 Super Bowl Odds
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Gore has over/under odds of 77.5 rushing yards and 20.5 receiving yards in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game at Atlanta.
Gore had an okay season, rushing for 1,214 yards and eight touchdowns. It was actually his second-best rushing total for a season in his career, just edging his 2011 season, where he rushed for 1,214 yards. Gore also caught 28 passes for 234 yards, which were much lower than his averages over his career. Gore did have a strong showing in last week’s playoff win over the Packers, as he rushed for 119 yards on 23 carries while catching two passes for 48 yards. He has had at least 78 rushing yards in nine of the team’s 17 games and has had at least 21 receiving yards in just five of the 17 games.
When it comes to the Falcons’ defense, Atlanta is not known for being a real power against the run. Atlanta gives up an average of 123.2 yards per game on the ground. The real question will be which player, Gore or Kaepernick, is the focus of the San Francisco run game. It didn’t seem to matter last week against Green Bay, as both men flourished. It’s hard to judge on the receiving yards, because he will be coming out of the backfield. Gore has had better stats in the passing game toward the end of the season with Kaepernick at quarterback.
