NFL Week 14 Opening Odds
(The Spread) –The opening odds have been released for Week 14 in the NFL. Let’s check out some of the marquee matchups and their spreads for this weekend.
One of the better rivalries over the past two years has taken place in the NFC West as the 49ers and Seahawks have grown a mutual hate for one another. That rivalry will once again be renewed on Sunday afternoon when the 49ers host the Seahawks at 4:25PM ET and according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Niners are 2.5-point favorites. The total for this game has also opened at 42.
Speaking of division rivals, the Panthers will visit the Saints on Sunday Night Football in a clash of NFC South foes. The Saints have opened as 3.5-point favorites over the Panthers, although the line could move following tonight’s Seattle-New Orleans matchup on Monday Night Football. For now, the total for the New Orleans-Carolina game is sitting at 44.5 points.
Another matchup with division and playoff implications will take place in Chicago where the Bears will host the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Despite dropping back-to-back games, Chicago has opened as 1.5-point home favorites over Dallas, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 50.5 points. In related news, coach Marc Trestman called Jay Cutler (ankle) “week to week” and reiterated that the Bears will “see where he is” when he returns to practice on Thursday.
Current division leaders will also meet on Sunday when the Bengals host the Colts at 1:00PM ET. The Bengals have opened as 5.5-point favorites following their victory over the Chargers in San Diego on Sunday, although the Colts are also coming off a home win over the Titans. The total for the Indy-Cincy matchup is sitting at 44.5 points.
