Minnesota is coming off its bye week following its 34-27 win over Pittsburgh in London two weeks ago. The Vikings haven’t been too bad on offense, scoring at least 24 points in each game while averaging 350.6 yards per game. The defense has been an issue, as it is giving up 326 passing yards per contest, which ranks 29th in the NFL. Matt Cassel got the start in the win with Christian Ponder being injured. Cassel threw for 248 yards and two scores in the win. Adrian Peterson is running well, as he has 421 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
Carolina is coming off a 22-6 loss at Arizona last week. The Panthers haven’t been very consistent on offense this year, being held to 7 points or less in two games. They are also averaging just 329 yards per game while the defense is holding opponents to 299.6 yards per contest. Cam Newton has been held to 885 passing yards with six touchdowns while DeAngelo Williams has rushed for 330 yards.
In terms of Injuries, Minnesota cornerback Chris Cook (groin) and tight end Rhett Ellison (knee) are both questionable. Carolina tight end Greg Olsen (foot) and safety Quintin Mikell (ankle) are both questionable as well.
