The spread slowly worked its way down to 9.5 points. The over/under total opened at 41 and fell to 40 before stabilizing at 40.5.
Kansas City is off to a 5-0 start with a 26-17 win at Tennessee last week. Three of the five wins have come by 10 points or less. The Chiefs have been led by their strong defense, which is holding opponents to 312.8 yards per game. The same defense has 21 sacks and 15 turnovers created in five games. Justin Houston has 8.5 sacks and 23 tackles for the defense, but he is questionable for this game with a concussion. Offensively, Alex Smith has 1,202 passing yards and seven touchdowns while Jamaal Charles has 397 rushing yards with three scores.
Oakland is coming off an impressive 27-17 win over San Diego last Sunday. The Raiders are coming off an improved offensive showing. Terrelle Pryor has thrown for 845 yards and four touchdowns this season while rushing for a team-high 229 yards. Denarius Moore has added 20 receptions for 317 yards and three touchdowns.
In terms of Injuries, Oakland running backs Rashad Jennings and Darren McFadden are both questionable with hamstring injuries. Kansas City tackle Eric Fisher (concussion) and receiver Donnie Avery (shoulder) are both questionable.
