INDIANAPOLIS: The Colts clinched a spot in the postseason with a great second half, winning five of their last six games. In their season finale, they upset the Texans 28-16 as a 6.5-point home favorite. Rookie quarterback Andrew Luck completed 14-of-28 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while Vick Ballard rushed 27 times for 78 yards and a score. T.Y. Hilton led the team in receiving with four catches for 111 yards and one touchdown, while Reggie Wayne notched four receptions for 40 yards. The victory was the Colts’ 11th of the season, which is remarkable seeing as how they won just one game a year ago. They also covered the spread for the 11th time this season and covered the number in five of their final six games.
BALTIMORE: The Ravens struggled down the stretch this year, winning just once over their final five games. They were beaten 23-17 by the Bengals in Week 17 and failed to cover as a 5.5-point underdog. Joe Flacco completed 4-of-8 passes for 34 yards before giving way to Tyrod Taylor, who completed 15-of-25 passes for 149 yards and an interception. Ray Rice was held to just 5 yards on three carries while Ed Dickson led the team in receiving with six catches for 64 yards. Baltimore finished with a 10-6 record and went 6-9-1 against the spread. The Ravens failed to cover in four of their final five games.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Ravens are 7-point favorites versus the Colts, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47 points. Indianapolis is 11-5 overall and 4-4 on the road, while Baltimore is 10-6 overall and 6-2 at home.
TRENDS: The Colts are 8-0 against the spread in their last eight games versus the Ravens and 5-0 ATS in their last five trips to Baltimore. The favorite is also 4-1 against the number in the last five games between these two teams, although the road team is 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings. The under, meanwhile, is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the last five meetings in Baltimore.
