GREEN BAY, WI (The Spread) – Two NFC North rivals meet in the first round of the NFL Playoffs on Saturday night. Here is a look at the prop odds available for the Vikings vs. Packers game.
View Updated 2013 Super Bowl Odds
The Packers come into this game as the favorite at home, as they have odds of -9.5 points against the Vikings. The over/under total for the game has been set at 46 points. There are a number of key players on both sides of the ball in this game. The focus on this game will be on the stars of both teams. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been given over/under odds of 2.5 touchdown passes against the Vikings. Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson has been given over/under odds of 126.5 rushing yards.
Rodgers comes into this game having thrown 39 touchdown passes during the season. That is an average of 2.43 per game, just under what the odds are set at. In the meeting with Minnesota at home, Rodgers had just one touchdown pass in a 23-14 victory. Last week in Minnesota, Rodgers had four touchdown passes. Rodgers has had at least three TD passes in his last three games. Despite having a respectable defense, the Vikings have allowed 28 passing touchdowns this season. That ranks tied for eighth-worst in the NFL.
Peterson comes into the game coming off the second-best rushing season in NFL history. Peterson racked up 2,097 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, finishing 8 yards shy of the all-time NFL record. Peterson averaged 131.1 yards per game during the season and he had at least 150 yards in four of his last five games and he had at least 127 yards in eight games this season. Against the Packers, Peterson rushed for 210 yards at Lambeau and 199 yards at home. The Packers have struggled to contain him this season. Green Bay is allowing an average of 118.5 rushing yards per game this season. That ranks right in the middle of the league, at 17th overall. The issue could be how much Peterson has left in the tank, but with it all on the line, you have to expect him to be at his best.
