NFL Week 7 Point Spreads
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The odds for Week 7 in the NFL have been released and there are a handful of intriguing spreads on this weekend’s slate.
Week 7 in the NFL gets kicked off on Thursday night when the Patriots host the Jets in a game between AFC East rivals heading in different directions. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots opened as 8.5-point favorites but the line has already climbed to 9.5 or even 10 at some sports books. The total, meanwhile, opened at 47.5 and has dropped to 46.5.
One of the more intriguing lines on the board is in the Carolina-Green Bay game where the Packers are 7-point favorites over a Panthers team that just covered as a 7-point road underdog in Cincinnati last week (37-37 tie with the Bengals). One would think that Carolina wouldn’t be a 7-point underdog in back-to-back weeks, especially considering Green Bay needed a last second touchdown pass to beat Miami on the road. But maybe with the extra travel the past two weeks, oddsmakers figure the Panthers will eventually wilt.
Perhaps the best game on the schedule is in Denver where the Broncos will host the 49ers on Sunday Night Football. Denver opened as 7-point favorites before the line was bet down to 6.5, while the total opened at 47 and has shot all the way up to 51. As of this writing the result of the Rams-49ers Monday night matchup has yet to conclude, so this line will be one to follow on Monday night/Tuesday morning.
The other primetime matchup is in Pittsburgh where the slumping Steelers will host the equally slumping Texans. Pittsburgh is just a 3.5-point home favorite over Houston after opening as a 4-point home favorite in Vegas. The total, meanwhile, opened at 44.5 before being bet up slightly to 45.
