NFL Week 8 Point Spreads
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Week 8 in the NFL will kick off on Thursday and with that, here’s a look at the point spreads for all of this weekend’s matchups.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos are 7.5-point home favorites over the Chargers for Thursday night’s matchup of AFC West opponents. Denver opened as a 6.5-point favorite but after San Diego lost to Kansas City at home on Sunday afternoon and the Broncos crushed the 49ers on Sunday night, the line shot up to 7.5 at most sports books.
The line for the Bears-Patriots’ matchup is on the move as well, as New England opened as a 5-point home favorite but is now a 6.5-point favorite over an inconsistent Chicago team. The Patriots will be coming off a bye a few extra days of rest after playing on Thursday night last week, while the Bears are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Dolphins at home, which dropped their record to 0-3 at Soldier Field this year.
AFC North rivals will square off in Cincinnati on Sunday when the suddenly struggling Bengals are a 1.5-point home favorite over a Ravens team that is improving defensively each week. Cincinnati was a 3-point favorite when this line opened but bettors jumped on the underdog Ravens, who crushed the Falcons on Sunday as a 7-point home favorite. The Bengals, meanwhile, were shutout in Indianapolis by a red-hot Colts team.
The Sunday night matchup is intriguing as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers travel to New Orleans to take on Drew Brees and the struggling Saints. Green Bay opened as a 1.5-point road underdog and that’s where the line currently sits, while the total opened at 51 and has jumped a full 3.5 points up to 54.5.
