Broncos vs. Lions Odds
The Denver Broncos look for a 3-0 start to the season tonight when they face the winless Detroit Lions at 8:30PM ET on NBC Sunday Night Football.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Denver is the favorite on the road, as the Broncos are getting odds of -3 points against the Lions. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44.5 points. Detroit has won its last two meetings with Denver while covering the spread in three straight in this series.
Denver is 2-0 on the season, 2-0 against the spread and 1-1 with the over/under total. The Broncos started the year with a 19-13 win over the Ravens at home and then picked up a 31-24 win at Kansas City in Week 2. The Broncos actually haven’t been doing much on offense, averaging just 259 yards per game, but the defense is holding opponents to just 255.5 yards per game. Peyton Manning has 431 passing yards with three touchdowns to lead the offense while Ronnie Hillman is the leading rusher with 75 yards. The defense is being led by DeMarcus Ware, who has six tackles with two sacks while Aqib Talib has two interceptions and four pass deflections.
Detroit is 0-2 on the season, 0-2 against the spread and 1-1 with the over/under total. The Lions opened the year with a 33-28 loss at San Diego and then dropped a 26-16 decision to the Vikings last week. The Lions haven’t been solid on either side of the ball, as the offense is averaging only 312.5 yards per game, while the defense is giving up 416.5 yards per contest. Ameer Abdullah is the leading rusher with just 59 yards in two games while Matthew Stafford has thrown for 532 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. The line has struggled to protect Stafford, and he is dealing with an elbow and rib injury heading into this game.
